Hands-on Service

Sights on Success 

This is a workshop for middle school girls featuring topics such as goal setting, positive peer pressure, confidence building as well as other topics related to young women.  The event is held in November and is free for any middle school girl.
Girls just wanna have fun! Sights on Success (“SOS”)
This year’s SOS, held Saturday, Oct. 3rd, was enjoyed by 43 young girls at Camp Hayo-Went-Ha on Torch Lake.



  Mastectomy Pillow Project 

Club members participate in the making of breast surgery pillows for use by breast cancer surgery patients.  These pillows are given to Charlevoix Area Hospitals and local surgeons who provide them to their patients who have had mastectomies.

  Mad Hatter Tea Party 

Elementary aged young women and their ‘special person’ tea.  Tea sandwiches, desserts, tea and lemonade are provided.  Dressing up for the occasion is encouraged.  Entertainment, crafts and a story highlight the event. 

  Food Pantry 

Club members collect and contribute non-perishable food items to local food pantries.

Charlevoix Zonta Memorial Scholarship
Needs-based for undergraduate studies in math and science other than medical

Rita G. Gay Memorial Scholarship
Award given to one local female high school senior planning to pursue a field of study concentrating on the written word.

Women’s Resource Voucher Program
Needs-based for books, gas, child care, etc., and helping women gain educational experience to enter the workforce

Young Women in Public Affairs
Recognizing high school aged women for their volunteer leadership and dedication to advancing the status of women


Sights on Success (SOS) is a program to build character, confidence, and team-building skills in middle school girls

Cancer Comfort Pillows for women who have had a mastectomy

Z Tea for elementary girls

Casa Materna in rural Nicaragua provides pre-natal and post-natal care and education for mothers with high risk pregnancies

Activities That Fund Service

  Apple Fest
At the Apple Fest, which takes place the 2nd weekend of every October, the club sells products to the community to raise service 

  Koeze Nut Sale
The club raises funds each November by selling Koeze Nuts, backed by a company that spans nine decades and four generations and guarantees quality, premium nuts.
