Zonta Club of Alpena

Who We Are

Charter Date:

The Benzie Area Zonta Club was chartered in January of 1986. The members of the Benzie Area Zonta Club take great pride in their club and their community.  Benzie County is geographically the smallest county in Michigan.  Its western border consists of 60 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline including Point Betsie Lighthouse, one of the most photographed lighthouses in Michigan.  The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and unspoiled bluffs in Benzie County contribute- to the natural beauty of the area.  The county’s 57 lakes and miles of scenic rivers provides the county with access to canoeing, boating, and charter fishing.  The city of Frankfort and the villages of Honor, Beulah, Benzonia, Elberta, Thompsonville and Lake Ann comprise this community whose chief industries are tourism and farming.
