Zonta Club of East Lansing, is one of over 1,200 clubs of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization. Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, Zonta takes its name from the Lakota Sioux Indian word meaning “honest and trustworthy.” Zontians volunteer their time, talents and energy to local and international service projects that are designed to advance the status of women.

The Zonta Club of East Lansing Area (ZCELA) seeks applications for a new small grant program for skills/career development that align with the criteria listed below and its mission: to improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health, and professional status of women at the local and global level through service and advocacy; to work for the advancement of understanding, goodwill, and peace; to promote justice and universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Small Grant Request for Proposal
In memory of Cheryl F. Hall. She was a member of our club for many years. She was a past president of the club, held many club and Zonta International District 15 and foundation positions. She was a close friend and mentor to many of us. She advocated for the improvement of the status of women and girls in our community and around the world. Cheryl participated in many of the club activities we held to give back to our local community and local philanthropies.
