Z is for Zonta!
Our Zonta Club has been serving the local community since 1927.
In those 90 years over $500,000 has been contributed to benefit local women.
We are one of over 1,200 clubs of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization. Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, Zonta takes its name from the Lakota Sioux Indian word meaning “honest and trustworthy.” Zontians volunteer their time, talents and are committed to local and international service projects that are designed to advance the status of women and empower women through service and advocacy. Zontians can be found around the world, all working to support the mission and projects of Zonta International.
Upcoming Events – 2026
16 Days of Activism Nov. 25 through December 10, is an annual Zonta International Campaign that involves Zonta Clubs around the Globe. The goal is to raise awareness of Genter Based Violence. It keeps this issue in the frontline and helps continue dialogue around supporting victims, bringing justice for victims and how we, as a global community can work together to help end this assault on our communities.
Zonta International’s Vision
Zonta International envisions a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential.
In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision making positions on an equal basis with men.
In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.
