Mastectomy Pillow Project

Once completed, twenty pillows were recently delivered by Zonta members to Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital’s Oncology Department.
Sights on Success
GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN! SIGHTS ON SUCCESS (“SOS”)
Making a difference! GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN! And fun is exactly what forty middle-school aged girls had at Camp Hayo-Went-Ha on Torch Lake Saturday, Oct. 20th as Zonta Club played host to area girls (Charlevoix, Petoskey, East Jordan and Ellsworth) during our annual SOS (“Sights on Success”) event. Despite the spotty weather, the turn-out was better than expected, and a good time was had by all! Eight counselors were standing by to assist the girls as they tried out the zip line, used their skills at climbing a fifty foot rock wall, working the 2-story ropes course, plus engaging in teamwork building activities. Lunch was a welcome respite, followed by goal-setting and confidence building activities designed to help the girls step outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves as young women. All in all, it was a perfect day, provided FREE of charge courtesy of Zonta. If you’ve supported a Zonta fundraiser, then you’ve assisted in helping girls, and Zonta thanks you!
