Making a difference! GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN! And fun is exactly what forty middle-school aged girls had on Saturday, Nov. 1st at Camp Daggett on beautiful Walloon Lake as Zonta Club played host to area girls (Charlevoix, Petoskey, East Jordan and Ellsworth) during our club’s annual SOS (“Sights on Success”) event. With perfect weather, the turn-out was better than expected, and a good time was had by all. Counselors were standing by to assist the girls as they tried out the zip line, used their skills at climbing rock walls, working the 2-story ropes course, plus engaging in teamwork building activities. Lunch was a welcome respite, followed by goal setting and confidence building activities designed to help the girls step outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves as young women. All in all, it was a perfect day, provided FREE of charge courtesy of Zonta. If you’ve supported a Zonta fundraiser, then you’ve assisted in helping girls, and Zonta thanks you!
